Food and Agriculture Research and Development Institute of Murcia is studying plant nutrition and physiology related with different abiotic stresses under elevated atmospheric CO2 concentration. Our research unit (Agrobiology) specialises in strategic and applied plant research in nutrient use in sustainable and competitive greenhouse horticulture. Recently new facilities provide excellence in science improving knowledge and technology to support sector competitiveness and innovation capacity. We offer strong capacities for innovations and groundbreaking research on different areas of plant biology related with plant production: analysis of leaf CO2 assimilation, transpiration and stomata conductance, chlorophyll fluorescence (photochemical ef?ciency of the photosystem II), leaf water and osmotic potentials, starch, amino acids, and soluble sugars, carbon and nitrogen isotope composition, oxidation and peroxidation of membrane lipids and proteins, yield components, and fruit quality related with organic acids, amino acids, sugars and vitamins composition.
